Wat Phra Sing
This Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai was built in 1385. All the buildings in the temple complex are constructed in the classic Lanna-style of architecture. The main buddha image, quite an ancient piece from around 150 AD, comes originally from Sri Lanka and was brought to Thailand in the Sukhothai period (1238-1438). The temple has long been a teaching monastery for the Pali language. This temple, just a few blocks from Wat Phra Keow, is interesting and well worth the effort. Both temples are only about 10 minutes from The Legend. |
